Lewis Hamilton led a Ferrari 1-2 in the Italian Grand Prix's opening practice session of the weekend, topping Formula 1 team-mate Charles Leclerc by 0.169s in the timesheets. 
Hamilton fired in a 1m20.117s in the final five minutes of the session to overturn Leclerc's line-leading time, as the Monegasque had found over 0.4s over early leader Max Verstappen.

Monaco GP cements place on F1 calendar with contract extension to 2035

Formula 1's Monaco Grand Prix will remain on the calendar until 2035 after signing a fresh four-year contract extension with commercial rightsholder FOM.
The agreement is the second contract extension for Monaco in less than 12 months after organiser Automobile Club of Monaco had already hammered out a deal with F1 last November.
